Getting Sick Gets Social

Sickweather is a social app that tracks signs and symptoms going on around you.

The next time you feel a cold coming on, are feeling sick to your stomach or have a scratch in your throat check in with the Sickweather app to see if an illness is going around in your area.

Sickweather is a location-based app that scans social media networks for statuses, Tweets and more indicating illness is in your area. It then informs you about the sickness nearby and acts as a warning of what may be heading your way. From the common cold, and sore throat to the chickenpox, Sickweather is  mapping and tracking the progression of illness around you.

Just like you check your phone to see what the weather is going to be like for the day, or what is going on in your community, you can now find out who is sick around you. Getting sick is getting social.

This app can be helpful in many ways. You can see which friends are under the weather and offer them your own “home remedies” and messages of “feel better soon” from a safe distance. And if you are the one feeling rough, you can share your symptoms and help alert the Sickweather community.
