10 Ways To Be Happier Everyday

Be happier and healthier with these great tips.

When most of us think about health we think about fitness and dieting. “How do I lose this last five pounds?” “Should I switch to a vegan diet?” “Do I have time to get in a morning workout?” But how often do you think about health in terms of happiness and keeping a smile on our face? Happiness goes hand in hand with health and these secrets to success will have you well on your way to looking and feeling better.  

1. Work on your fitness 

Just 20 minutes a day can make a huge difference in your daily routine! Physical activity naturally releases endorphins, so grab your yoga mat and hit the gym to boost your mood.

2. Stay social 

Grab your gal pals for a night out. Spending time with your family and friends can easily give you a better mindset and put a smile on your face. 

3. Volunteer

Dedicate your free time to someone in need. Spend your weekend at a local nursing home or help build houses with Habitat for Humanity. Bringing a smile to someone else will benefit both you and them! 

4. Mindful meditation 

Meditation essentially rewires your brain for happiness. By calming down and clearing your mind, you can reset your mind and experience greater levels of happiness. 

5. Hit the trails 

Take a stroll outside or hit a local park trail. A little sunshine and light exercise will do your body and soul good. 

6. Smile!

Flash a smile! All you need to do is convince yourself that you’re happy, and you will be. It’s all about the power of positive thinking. 

7. Practice gratitude

Keep a journal of things you are thankful for. Focusing on what we have keeps negative thoughts away. 

8. Rest

You’re more susceptible to depression if you’ve been deprived of sleep. So head to bed earlier and make sure you get at least 8 hours a night. 

9. Pick up a new hobby 

Keep your mind active by picking up a new hobby. Learn how to play the guitar or how to knit (that’s really great for keeping your mind sharp.) You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and keep your brain on its toes.
