Anything eye-level on the store shelves is probably not a deal. Sometimes buying in bulk isn't logical. It's okay to like something you see not not buy it if you don't need it. (Good on you!) What are some easy ways of saving a buck...or $100?

Cancel magazine and cable subscriptions. You usually end up reading a friend's mag, or a mag at the hair salon or doctor's office. You can even pick up discounted magazines at a half-price bookstore. You can also watch episodes of your favorite cable shoes on iTunes, so don't waste money on hundreds of channels you don't even watch (seriously- have you ever watched those 25 channels that aren't even a language that you speak?)

Do I need this item?
Can I fix it myself if it needs repairs?
Does it take up alot of space?
Can I wash it at home?

Go Old-School: Barter with Friends

The Band: Do you know a cover band, or someone in one? Have them play a backyard concert during the warm months. It's a fun alternative to an iPod shuffling songs, and you only have to provide the beer and bites!

The Graphic Guru: Know a designer? Have them design your website, wedding save-the-dates or even business cards. Use your talent to repay them, whether you're a chef, a photographer or a writer. There are so many ways to barter your untapped talents!
