When you’re too tired of the ultra-complicated looks that include straightening, curling and doing other types of moves to your hair, the go-to look is often the ponytail. It’s the easiest look out there, since it pretty much just required an elastic and your hands. But these 5 updos are a little more flirty and fun, but just as easy. Some may require a curling iron or flat-iron, but you’re only doing a few locks, not your entire head!
1.
The Curly – If you have long locks and a curling iron, this ‘do is a must-try. Start off by grabbing all of your hair one hand and brushing it into a low side pony, using your hands. Don’t use a hair tie yet. Then use a curling iron to curl various sections of your hair. Don’t worry if the sections don't contain the amount, some pieces should look natural. When finished, you’ll be left with a curly ponytail, similar to the ones that Lauren Conrad shows off all time.
2. The Sleek – If you’re going out for a nice dinner, wear this fun updo with sunglasses and lots of accessories. Blow-dry or flat-iron your hair straight. Brush your hair back into a ponytail and fasten it with an elastic hair tie. If you have flyaways, use hairspray to control them. Lastly, run a shine serum through your ponytail for a sleek, sophisticated look.
3. The High Pony With Headband – Even on a bad hair day, there’s still a way to make your hair look cool, calm and collected. It’s all about the accessories. Scoop your hair up into a high ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. If you keep getting bumps in your mane, try brushing it out. Add a cute headband to top it off.
4. Classic and Pretty Mess – This look can be dressed up enough for an award show, and dressed down enough for a night in with your man. Use your fingers to grab your hair all the way back. Don’t make it too high; you want it to be about mid-level. Loosen it up a little. This look isn’t a tight pony. If you have bangs keep them out.
5. The Low Look – Even though high ponytails have traditionally been though of as “ultra sexy,” a basic low ponytail can be just as hot with a one twist. Fasten your hair right along your neck, and tie it with an elastic that matches your hair color. Then, take a 1/2-inch-wide piece of hair from the part of the ponytail just above your neck and tie it around the elastic. Fasten the end of the piece of hair with a bobby pin.
