3 Sleek and Sexy Summer Braids PDF Print E-mail
You may associate braids with little girls jumping rope or Heidi of the Swiss Alps, but the truth is, the braid is making a comeback in a BIG way. Not only do the looks vary from classic and contained to wispy and romantic, but they are also looks you can easily bring from summer into fall. Hairstyles tend to change with fashion, but some of these looks are as memorable and wistful as can be!

The fishtail braid. This was a popular look in the 90’s that has resurfaced in the past couple of years. Not only is the look easy and breezy, but it is also lovely and sweet. Blake Lively incorporated a fishtail into her tousled side swept look recently, so there is a way to balance the sweet with sultry. Braid in plaits and keep this look loose so it looks like you came from the beach. Experiment with textures and products to get just the right look for you!

Try a Side French Braid. This up-do look is gorgeous on brides and bridesmaids. You have to possess a good amount of hair to perfect this look, but the time spent is worth it. French braid the hair following the crown around to the side hairline and then back along neckline, pinning the ends up. Voila! A classic and romantic look that will last even longer if you spritz with hairspray and toss beforehand.

Look angelic with the deconstructed ‘Halo’ braid. Become otherworldly with this gamine style by parting your hair to the preferred side and then grabbing a section of hair near the front and braiding around your natural hairline. Tuck behind your ear or pin if desired. This is a less time-consuming version of the full halo.
