4 Ways to Make Weight Loss LAST! PDF Print E-mail
Weight loss is hard enough to achieve, but keeping off the pounds can be just as difficult. Keep reading for the four ways you can make all of that hard work last into your bright future!

Dare to Dream

Set goals for yourself that are attainable, then move on to bigger goals. Once you achieve your run time or weight lifting goal, you can pat yourself on the back and then move on to the next challenge. Baby steps will ensure that you meet goals; don't rush into lifting a car or running a marathon until you've lifted free weights and gotten up to speed on your 2-mile run.

Drop the Dollars

Pay for a personal trainer, whether it's one session (reasonable for those who are familiar with gym workouts), a week of sessions or long-term one-on-one training. If you pay for one session or 20, you will be more likely to get your butt to the gym than if you don't pay at the start. Once you drop your money on something, chances are, you're going to use it, especially if it's in addition to your gym fee.

Recruit a Friend

If you can't afford a gym memberhip and/or trainer, think about making a workout with a friend a priority. Instead of grabbing margaritas with as much calories as there is sugar in them with the girls after work, invite a couple of gal pals over to your place to workout to your favorite workout DVD, or take a jog at the local park. Try and make it easy for everyone; find friends who run the same pace and meet somewhere that is convenient for all.

Keep it Going

Workouts shouldn't begin and end at the gym. Take the stairs at work, park further from the grocery store doors and don't plop down on the couch when you get home. Staying active at work and throughout the evening hours is vital; every little bit really does help!
