4 Reasons to Change Your Cosmetics PDF Print E-mail
Too much foundation or too little focus on your eyes can make you appear older, tired and even messy. What should you be changing about your cosmetics routine? Keep reading for five ways to keep it clean, pretty and easy when it comes to your pretty face, whether it's a touch-up or a quick beauty fix!

Anything You're Afraid to Conceal?

When it comes to your face, don't be afraid of concealing. Full foundation isn't required, but a dab of concealer over undereye dark circles and uneven skin tones (whether you have dark spots or redness) is key. A healthy swipe of powder over the face makes for a clean slate and starting point. Get rid of excess shine and ruddiness with a touch of concealer (make sure it matches your skin tone) and powder. We like the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer.

Don't Blush!

Blush only works when applied correctly. If you have naturally rosy cheeks, forgo the blush or any variety, whether it's a stain, powder or gel-based product. If you have darker skin, be sure to sweep the blush brush up across your cheekbones with a shocking berry pink (African-American women can pull this look off best). If you have fair skin, look for a peach-based blush that doesn't have any bronzy browns in it; it actually makes your face look dirty. Mauve will look natural if you have a cooler skin tone.

Pencil This In

Use a creamy lip liner to avoid those dreaded 'bleeding' lines. We like VASANTI's Ultra-Creamy lip pencil. It is even packed with antioxidants and vitamins. Sephora and Ulta have a variety of terrific liner options under $12.

Embrace Nature

Make sure to keep your lips natural and luxe with an organic, natural product. We love ONE WORLD lip balm by Eco Lips. The Coconut Ginger variety is luscious and clean and is made with Tamanu Oil.
