Superfood Smoothies To Drink Now

We recently did an article on the 5 Superfoods To Eat Now, and you loved it. So we're back with a quick and easy smoothie that's packed with superfood goodness! Whip this up in a high powered blender, and you won't even have to peel or seed the fruits! We love this recipe, because it's great in the morning OR evening. It's also great for before or after a workout, so make it if you're feeling like you need a health boost! Keep reading for the recipe!


Superfood Spinach Smoothie
Ingredients
1 C. spinach, loosely packed
1 frozen banana, sliced
1 C. frozen berries (unsweetened)
1/2 inch ginger (leave the skin on)
1/2 C. Greek Yogurt (we like the honey flavor, but plain works)
1 C. lemon juice
1/2 C. pomegranate juice
1 C. crushed ice 
Directions
Blend until smooth and no lumps. You may add some water for a thinner smoothie or more ice for a slushier smoothie. 
Pina Colada Superfood Smoothie
Ingredients
1 C. coconut milk (or coconut water)
1/2 C. frozen pineapple chunks
1 frozen banana, sliced
1/2 C. coconut shreds
1/2 inch ginger (leave the skin on)
sweetener, to taste (optional)

Directions
Blend until smooth and no lumps. You may add some water for a thinner smoothie or more ice for a slushier smoothie.

Chocolate Chia Seed Superfood Smoothie
Ingredients

1 C. almond milk (or your favorite milk)

2 1/2 Tbs. chia seed

1 Tbs. cacao (powder or raw beans)

cinnamon, to taste

sea salt, to taste

sweetener, to taste (optional)


Directions
Blend until smooth and no lumps. You may add some frozen banana for a chocolate banana superfood smoothie, or you can add some protein powder for a more filling drink.
