4 Signs You're Stressed: How to Deal PDF Print E-mail
Stress can become chronic, and although most of us have little stressors in our lives, they shouldn't take over our life! Combat stress with our tips and learn what habits you currently have that may actually be major indications of stress in your life!

What a headache!
Headaches are the first sign of stress. They are often chronic and continue to cause people to pop one too many headache or migrane pills. Take a long walk and keep an exercise and sleep schedule so that you can diminish these cumbersome reminders of the stress in our lives.

Wacky Dreams
According to doctors, dreams usually become more positive the longer and deeper you sleep. If you are experiencing strange and bizarre dreams (haven't we all?), then you are likely more stressed out than usual. Don't let yourself go to bed thinking of the stress in your life. Try a before-bed exercise or wind down with a pleasant book and a glass of milk or decaffeinated tea. These activities will allow you to take your mind off those bigger problems and relax before your head hits your pillow.

Pain in the...Mouth?
If you are experiencing bleeding gums and a throbbing pain, you may not expect that these are related to stress - but they are. Bleeding gums are a sign that bacteria has collected around the gumline due to the stress hormone known as cortisol. Getting exercise and sleep certainly help across the board, but you can also keep a toothbrush and floss in your purse for when you are away from home for long hours. Experiencing pain around the jawline may be due to grinding your teeth during the day and/or while you sleep - the best solution? A mouth guard. It may not be cute, but it will help you from furthering the damage already done.

Save the Drama
You could become overly emotional when you are stressed and end up lashing out at those you love. Stress sets your emotions into high gear, so take that energy you have from being tightly-wound and exert it through exercise instead of arguing or blowing up at someone at home or on the job. Releasing endorphins through exercise will leave you brighter and happier and ready to face any challenge!
