There are lots of New Year's resolutions that seem like insurmountable goals, such as running a marathon or losing 20 pounds. And then there are goals that are a whole lot easier, and are a shortcut to better health! Keep reading to see our 4 easiest resolutions we're sure you can keep.
Cut Out 1 High Calorie Beverage Per Day
If you have a Tall Mocha Latte for breakfast, and a soda with lunch or dinner, you are consuming a lot of liquid calories that aren't doing much positive for your body. It is probably too high of a goal to cut out all of your caffeinated, high-calorie drinks, but cutting out one a day can gradually decrease your dependence and pave the way for a total makeover.
Pick One Area for Focus
It's easy to look at your body and want to change everything at once, but unfortunately, that's not a realistic approach to toning or weight loss. Obviously, you cannot lose weight from just one area of your body very easily, but it's good to set goals that are attainable and make a difference in your fitness. Does you want to have better posture? Make an effort to do core-strengthening exercises and stand up straight. Don't try to change everything at once.
Take the Stairs
Yes, we know you're busy and you're carrying a lot of stuff and you're wearing heels, but do it anyways. Stairs are usually quicker than the elevator, and climbing the stairs a couple times a day is very beneficial to your legs and heart.
Make Your Bed
When you want to go to sleep at night, is your bed covered in clothes and other effects of your day? Make a point to make your bed and keep it neat throughout the day so that you lose the hassle when you're tired at night. Not only will this help your stress level, you'll also get more pillow time when you need it!
