The Trick to Doing Ombre Nails

Finally, the trick we've all been waiting for! We're big fans of this mani, but have been puzzled trying to figure out how to re-create it. Read on to learn the secret behind this look.

Supplies:

small makeup sponge
toothpicks
2 shade of nail polish
clear top coat
Q-tips
water
nail polish remover

Directions:

1. Start by painting your nails the lighter of the two colors.
2. Pour a little bit of the two colors next two each other.
3. Mix the colors together in the middle using a toothpick.

4. Dip the sponge in water. This will prevent it from absorbing all the polish.
4. Dip the sponge in the polish.
5. Dab the sponge on the nail.
6. Repeat for each nail, then let dry.
7. Use a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to clean up excess polish on your fingers.
8. Finish by painting a clear top coat on each nail.
