Sometimes losing weight can be the small battle when compared with keeping it off for good! Maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle seems easy, but it is often the biggest hurdle women have to face head on. Keep reading for the simple ways you can maintain your current weight or keep off those pounds you lost- and congratulations! A healthy weight keeps your mind and body in balance and promotes general well-being overall!
Keep Working Out!
Don't stop now: maintaining an exercise regimen is important when considering your maintanance goals. Now that you've achieved what you may have once thought of as impossible, there should be no turning back. You deserve to stay healthy and in shape now that you've gotten this far, so don't let yourself slip. Motivate yourself by getting a friend to join the gym with you, or splurge on that new iPod to keep yourself moving during these colder Winter months: it will all be worth it at the end of the day!
Choose a form of exercise that you find enjoyable, and be sure to fit in at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. Who knows? You may find a new program or gym class that you love which you end up actually looking forward to everyday.
Keep a Diary
Don't obsess about pounds, but do use a diary or phone app to keep track of when you worked out, for how long, and what your food intake for the day was. Counting calories is easy when all you have to do is the plug the item into your phone---it does all the math for you! Find an appropriate caloric intake for the day and stay below it; before you know it, you will be meeting all of your goals. It has never been easier now that so many smartphones give you this option. All the same, if you keep a diary, make sure to have a reference for what you ate that day, whether it was high in protein, carbs or sugar. This way you can learn from your mistakes and gain more from your positive eating and exercising choices.
Reading, Writing, Arithmetic
Remember to always keep learning by finding the best health sites, blogs and experts to rely on for advice. Don't ignore your own doctor's advice, either. If you have had the same G.P. for some time, they know you (and your body) well. TRUST THEM. If they are giving what you think is less than stellar advice, don't be afraid to get a second opinion in the matter. Write down what you've learned, what your goals are and keep track of intake and exercise. Simple things you learned in school---how to read, write and complete a basic math equation---really do help when it comes to tracking your overall progress!
