Nectarine Crumb Cake

It may look like something out of a magazine, but this silky pie is ridiculously easy to whip up. Don’t forget to shower it with vanilla powder sugar for added sweetness and a spectacular effect that will leave your guests in awe!

Serves: 6-8 Cook Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes


  • 3 C. nectarines, sliced
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. orange juice
  • 4 Tbs. butter
  • 3/4 C. flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • sprinkle of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 3/4 C. yogurt


  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the fruit slices, 1/4 cup sugar and orange juice and bring to a simmer. Set aside.
  3. In another saucepan, melt the butter until it turns golden, about 2 minutes.
  4. Pour it into a medium-size baking dish.
  5. To make the batter, combine the remaining ingredients and pour the mixture over melted butter, without stirring.
  6. Scatter the nectarines on top.
  7. Bake for about 50 minutes and serve with a cup of tea.
