Simple Homemade Granola

Don't weigh yourself down by over-doing it at breakfast. Instead, start the day off on the right foot with an energizing meal. This granola recipe is delicious mixed in with yogurt or your favorite fruit!


  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cup flax seeds
  • 1 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 3/4 cup wheat bran
  • 3/4 cup oat  bran
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine oats and flax seeds. Transfer mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the sheet from the oven, and add wheat bran, oat bran and almonds. Carefully stir the ingredients and place back in the oven to bake for an addition 15 to 20 minutes. Every 5 minutes, stir the mixture to ensure the granola is cooking evenly. After baking, mix in wheat germ and allow the mixture to cool before serving.
