Fun and Flavorful Fruit Bites

These little fruit bites may be a bit more complicated to bake, but the pay-off is definitely worth it. This recipe creates a sweet dessert that’s as healthy as it is sweet. Bake these fruit bites to close off your amazing dinner with an impressive dessert.

Ingredients:

For the Pastry:

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • Water
  • Cream
  • 2 cups nonfat milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 tbsp. wheat flour

For the Topping:

  • 10 Strawberries, sliced
  • 10 kiwis, sliced
  • 20 blueberries
  • 1 mango, scooped into 10 mini balls

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, margarine, egg, and a bit of water until the mixture is well-combined.
  3. Wrap the mixture in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Remove mixture from refrigerator and roll out.
  5. Slice circles out of the mixture and shape them into bowls.
  6. Place bowls on a baking sheet and put in oven for 12 minutes or until lightly browned and crisped.
  7. Remove bowls and set aside.
  8. For the cream, heat milk to a boil.
  9. Combine eggs and wheat flour to boiling milk, mix thoroughly until mixture is thick.
  10. Pour mixture into a bowl to cool.
  11. Carefully pour the cream into each bowl and top with fruits.
