Metallic Scalloped Nails

Spice up your nail look with a simple yet eye-catching metallic scallop design that’s sure to turn heads. The pop of purple adds a vibrant touch to any springtime outfit, making you feel both fierce and fabulous.

Scalloped designs are trending in the nail art world, and for good reason! This style gives you the flexibility to keep it simple or amp up the metallic flair, perfect for pairing with a leather jacket or even your favorite black lacy dress.

What You’ll Need:

  • Base coat
  • Top coat
  • Purple polish (e.g., Gabrielle by Julep)
  • Metallic polish (e.g., Nothing Else Metals by Essie)
  • Gold polish (e.g., Zelda by Julep)
  • Paint brush (or toothpick, dotting tool, etc.)
  • Magazine paper, cardstock, or index card

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Start with a clean slate! Apply your base coat to protect your nails.

Step 2:
Next, apply one to two coats of your purple polish (Gabrielle). This particular polish is thick enough that one coat often suffices, which is one of the reasons we love Julep!

Step 3:
On a piece of paper, dab some of your metallic polish (Nothing Else Metals). Use your paint brush to create three small cloud-like bumps on one side of your nail.

Tip: You can also create your scallops horizontally for a different look!

Step 4:
Fill in the inside of your scalloped design with the metallic polish to complete the look.

Step 5:
Seal everything with a top coat for a polished finish.

Step 6:
Optional: For an extra layer of shine, take your gold polish (Zelda) and repeat the scalloped pattern inside the initial design. This will add more sparkle and a chic touch to your nails.

If you experiment with different colors or techniques, we’d love to see your creations! Share your designs in the comments!

Happy polishing!
