Jennifer Hudson, Academy Award-winning actress and singer extraordinaire, is not just known for her acting chops and her incredible voice; she also has a signature style that sets her apart. Thanks to the inside scoop from Tia Dantzler, Jennifer’s makeup artist, now you can copy her sexy runway look! Tia filled us in on how she gave Jennifer glowing skin, smoky cat eyes, and luscious lips at the annual amFAR charity event.
Here’s how Tia created Jennifer’s look:
“I lightly moisturized Jennifer’s skin with Kinerase Lotion, then I used YSL Oil-Free Matt Touch Primer to create the perfect base for foundation. Next, I sparingly used Bobbi Brown’s Tinted Moisturizer to even out her skin tone. Her eyebrows were defined by using DiorShow’s Brow Styler in Universal Brown, then topped off with a clear brow gel by CoverGirl to keep brow hairs in place.
I based her eye with Dior’s Trinidad Black eyeliner pencil, then layered Urban Decay’s Perversion eyeshadow close to her lashline and blended the black eyeshadow into her crease for added drama. I wanted to emphasize her eyes even more, so I added Smoke and Mirrors strip lashes. I then used my favorite gel liner by Bobbi Brown called Black Ink for the perfect cat eye effect. Next, I gave Jennifer lush, full lashes by applying Johnson’s Baby Powder to create volume before adding two coats of DiorShow Mascara.
I wanted to highlight and lightly contour her cheekbones, so I used MAC’s Sweet As Cocoa and Nars Illuminator to make her glow under the lights. I set her entire face by using Smashbox HD Microfinish Powder which kept her camera-ready all night. Lastly, I used a soft purple lip gloss by Dior Addict #591 to complete her look.”
