Have you ever gotten fitness burnout? Do you find yourself getting incredibly bored with your routine and you dread going to the gym? If I’m going to be honest, that’s me 95% of the time. I just get so bored of doing sit-ups and running on the treadmill (or the hamster wheel as I like to call it.) Anyway, I’ve been struggling with this issue for awhile, so I decided to try something new.
For some reason, I’ve always thought that a workout can’t be considered a “workout” unless I’m miserable while doing it. So when I decided to try out the Wii U console and the Wii Fit U, I had two thoughts in mind. First, I figured it probably wouldn’t be much of a workout. Second, I thought if it was semi-difficult, it wouldn’t be fun. Well, I was wrong.
I went through each of the Wii Fit U workouts for about a week and a half. I can’t remember the last time I was ever this sore. Each workout was challenging and kept me wanting to do more. While I was doing the workouts I didn’t find myself getting bored, I just wanted to beat my previous score or burn more calories. One of my favorite aspects about the Wii Fit U was that it tells you how many calories you burn after each game/workout/activity.
If you’re looking for a killer ab workout you have to try the core luge game. I didn’t realize how weak my abs were until I tried to luge. In the game, you sit/lean back on the Wii board and control your direction with your abs. After I finished the core luge I had no doubt that the Wii Fit U was a legitimate workout.
It was also really easy to keep track of my progress throughout my day. The Wii Fit U comes with a fit meter, which measures the number of steps you take and how many calories you burn during the day.
For anyone who’s looking for a new workout regime without having to leave their home, I highly recommend trying the Wii Fit U. If you have it, or if you try it, let us know what you think!
