The days are getting longer and I’m itching to get into my spring clothes. I’m sure my wedges (which have been buried under my bed) are dying for warmer weather too. Here are the trends I daydream about wearing in a few months.
Lace: I can’t step into a store in the mall without seeing lace dresses and tops. To tackle this trend try wearing just one lace piece. For example, a solid colored lace tank looks pretty and professional underneath a blazer.
Easter Egg Shades: Light, flowy blouses in girly pastels were all over the racks at stores like H&M; and Forever 21. The colors I’ve seen the most of are pink and mint green. If you love pink, try a pair of jeans in a soft rose color. If you’re a fan of cooler colors, try a seafoam colored scarf or jewelry. This color is also very popular for shoes this season. You’ll look on trend in a pair of mint green heels.
Ankle Strap Sandals: Zara made this style popular. They’re black ankle strap sandals were spotted on everyone in the fashion industry last summer from bloggers to editors. Of course everyone is copying that style this year. Similar pairs are available from Nine West, Gomax and Forever 21.
Checkerboard: You can thank Marc Jacobs for this one. His checkered prints at the spring Louis Vuitton show have taken the fashion world by storm. Jessica Alba wore a dress from the collection to the Golden Globes after party and Kristen Stewart also wore this trend on the red carpet. To pull this trend off in real life and not look like a walking checkerboard I would wear a classic gingham print.
Many of these trends can be combined too. A gingham shirt in a pastel color would look great with jeans and ankle strap sandals paired with a lace dress would be perfect for date night. As long as you incorporate it into your personal style, you can make any trend work.
