Mangoes

I love mangoes. Off the top of my head, mango season is the only season I know by heart! My favorite fruit this season may just be…you guessed it…mangoes. This fruit is not only delicious and sent from heaven, but also unbelievably nutritious.

Like the other fruits and vegetables this season, it contains high concentrations of vitamins A and C. Mangoes also have a variety of antioxidants and offer other health benefits such as reducing the risk of cancer and other diseases. When it comes to choosing mangoes, the color isn’t as important as how firm it is. A ripe mango will slightly give when you press your thumb against it. Use it in smoothies, salads, and you’ll to come to love it as much as I do. When ripe, it is a great natural sweetener.
