Jackie Warner’s Tips for Staying Motivated During a Workout

When you have a top personal trainer like Jackie Warner to help you out, it can be easy to stay motivated.  A personal trainer’s job is to keep you working hard and doing your best.  But when you work out on your own, it can be much trickier to keep your head in the game.  Here are some tips that Bravo’s Jackie Warner shared with us for staying motivated during a particularly strenuous workout:

  1. Always stay positive.  If you allow your thoughts to become negative, you run a greater risk of giving up.  Be proud of what you’ve done so far and strive to do even more.

  2. Build a support system.  If you have others who support what you’re doing, it is much easier to stay on track.  Talk to your friends, family and co-workers about your goals.  Who knows; you may even find a workout buddy!

  3. Build your knowledge and interest in fitness.  Watch fitness DVDs and read fitness magazines (Jackie’s favorite is Muscle & Fitness).  Talk to your friends about a new workout tip you learned.  The more interest you have in something, the more likely you are to stick with it.

Jackie states that exercising is all about the mind-body connection, so if you’re not mentally present, your workout will suffer.  Bring out your “inner athlete” by following these steps, and you will succeed!
