Homemade Iced Coffee

This recipe is great for sharing with friends, since it makes 8 cups. Be sure to thing ahead, though, since it’s an overnight recipe. But when it’s done, it’s definitely worth the time. You might never go back to the coffee shop again!

Ingredients:

6 oz. coarse ground coffee beans
6 C. cold water
Milk and sweetener, for serving

Directions:

1.    In a large container, saturate the coffee beans in the water.
2.    Cover and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours. (The longer, the better.)
3.    Over a pitcher put a fine strainer and slowly pour your coffee mixture through it. You may need to push the liquid through the strainer.
4.    Discard all the grounds after straining.
5.    Place the coffee in the fridge and chill until ready to drink.
6.    To make the iced coffee, add 1 C. of ice to each glass. For the best results, have a 1:1 ratio of water to coffee in your cup.
7.    Add the milk and sweetener and stir well.
