You can enjoy this steak by itself, or you can add some mixed vegetables, too! Make sure to choose tomato sauce with the least amount of sugar.
What you’ll need:
- 2 lbs cubed steak
- 1-15 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 large onion, sliced lengthwise
- 1 large green bell pepper, sliced lengthwise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper
Use just enough oil to cover the bottom of a large nonstick skillet. Brown both sides of the cubed steak, then remove from the skillet. Saute the onions and bell peppers until lightly browned. Return the steak to the skillet, and add tomato sauce, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until the meat is tender. Use the sauce reduction to make gravy or just pour over the steak upon serving.
