Combine the lovely nutty aroma of basmati rice with the zestiness of fresh lemon and the minty flavor of thyme!
What you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup basmati rice
- 1/2 medium lemon
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 pinch white pepper
Bring the water to a boil and add the salt and basmati rice. Grate lemon rinds and then juice the lemon, then add to the rice. Cover the pot. Bring to a boil again, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked. Add the thyme and season with white pepper. Gently stir the rice. Serve hot.
