Festive Paella

Paella is a great choice for a holiday: it's exotic taste will bring a holiday atmosphere to your house! The best thing about this quick, easy and healthy dish is that it's made in a huge pan that's easy to scoop and serve to the whole crowd. Top off with a squeeze of lemon to bring out the full flavor of the dish.


  • 1 large green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 large red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tsp of chili powder
  • 2 tsp of oregano
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tbsp of coriander
  • 2 garlic, minced
  • 1 lb of shrimp
  • 1 lb of oysters
  • 0.5 c. of green peas
  • 0.2 c. of white wine
  • 2 c. of rice
  • 1/2 lb squid, if desired


  1. Combine vegetable broth, white wine, paprika and coriander in a saucepan and bring to boil, the reduce the heat.
  2. Add green and red pepper, garlic, green peas, and drizzle with olive oil, continuing cooking.
  3. Stir in oregano and chili powder. Spread out the rice on the mixture.
  4. Arrange shrimp and oyster on top, boil for 10 minutes, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve in an saucepan.
