In Spain and Portugal New Year’s revelers quickly eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight as a predictor to the year ahead. Twelve sweet grapes mean 12 sweet months, and any sour grapes mean a sour month ahead.
Add grapes to your menu to keep the prosperity flowing. Our easy way to do that is by making a Low-Fat Grape Salad. This dish is a creamy mixture of different flavors that are sure to please any crowd.
Low-Fat Grape Salad

Ingredients
2 lb. green seedless grapes
2 lb. red seedless grapes
8-oz. Greek yogurt
8-oz. low-fat cream cheese, softened
1/2 C. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract, to taste
1 C. brown sugar, packed
1 C. crushed pecans
Directions
Wash and stem grapes; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine Greek yogurt and low-fat cream cheese. Add sugar and vanilla, mix together and set aside. Gently toss grapes into the mixture. Transfer grape mixture to a large serving bowl, and set aside.
For the toppings, mix together brown sugar and pecans in a medium bowl. Add to the top of the grape mixture. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight. Remove, and serve.
