  • 11 oz. soft goat cheese
  • 8 jalapenos, halved and seeded
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 2/3 cup Panko crumbs
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (dried)

Combine flour and pepper in a bowl. Whisk together egg, salt, and 2 tablespoons water in a small bowl. Combine panko crumbs and remaining salt in another small bowl. Roll goat cheese into 16 balls. Place each goat cheese ball into a jalapeno half. Without separating the two, roll the pepper and cheese in flour mixture, dip in egg mixture, and dredge in panko mixture.

Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the poppers for 2-3 minutes or until crisp. Remove with a spoon, and place on paper towels to drain. Afterwards drizzle with honey and serve!
