What You Can Eat During the Attack Phase:

  • Eggs: Eggs are an excellent source of protein and can be consumed in this phase.

  • Oat Bran: Two tablespoons of oat bran daily are required for added fiber and to help control hunger.
  • Zero-Calorie Drinks: Water, tea, coffee (without sugar), and other zero-calorie drinks are allowed.

What You Can Eat During the Cruise Phase:

In this phase, the focus is still on protein, but non-starchy vegetables are introduced. You alternate between pure protein days and protein with vegetable days.

  • Non-Starchy Vegetables: Add veggies like spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, and broccoli to your diet. Avoid starchy vegetables like potatoes or corn.
  • Oat Bran: Continue consuming oat bran daily to support digestion and control appetite.

What You Can Eat During the Consolidation Phase:

This phase reintroduces more variety into your diet, allowing you to maintain your weight loss while gradually adding more foods.

  • Proteins: Lean protein options remain the staple of your diet and can be eaten freely.
  • Vegetables: You can enjoy all non-starchy vegetables.
  • A Serving of Fruit: You can now add one serving of fruit to your daily intake. Stick to lower-sugar fruits like berries or apples.
  • Two Slices of Whole-Grain Bread: Whole grains are slowly reintroduced in this phase.
  • Cheese: You’re allowed up to 1 1/2 ounces of cheese per day.
  • Oat Bran: Continue to consume at least two tablespoons of oat bran daily.

What You Can’t Eat:

To stick to the Dukan Diet, you must avoid certain foods, especially in the early phases.

  • Anything That’s Not Protein During the Attack Phase: During the initial phase, your diet should consist only of lean proteins and zero-calorie drinks. No fruits, vegetables, or carbs are allowed.
  • Starchy Vegetables During the Cruise Phase: Even though you can eat non-starchy vegetables, starchy veggies like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn should be avoided.
  • Alcohol: Alcohol is strictly prohibited until the Consolidation Phase, where it can be reintroduced in moderation.
