Dukan Diet Dos and Don’ts

The Dukan Diet is a high-protein and low-carbohydrate diet that is based on how our primitive hunter-gatherer ancestors used to eat. Here are the basic dos and don’ts when starting the Dukan Diet.

What you can eat during the Attack Phase:

  • Meat and fish
  • Eggs, vegetable protein, non-fat dairy
  • Oat bran
  • Zero-calorie drinks

What you can eat during the Cruise Phase:

  • Add non-starchy vegetables to the initial diet
  • Oat bran

What you can eat during the Consolidation Phase:

  • Proteins: all you can eat
  • Vegetables: all you can eat
  • A serving of fruit
  • Two slices of whole-grain bread
  • Cheese: 1 1/2 ounces
  • Oat bran, 2 tablespoons required

What you can’t eat:

  • Anything that’s not protein during the Attack Phase
  • Starchy vegetables during the Cruise Phase
  • Alcohol, until you reach the Consolidation Phase
