The Dukan Diet is a high-protein and low-carbohydrate diet that is based on how our primitive hunter-gatherer ancestors used to eat. Here are the basic dos and don’ts when starting the Dukan Diet.
What you can eat during the Attack Phase:
- Meat and fish
- Eggs, vegetable protein, non-fat dairy
- Oat bran
- Zero-calorie drinks
What you can eat during the Cruise Phase:
- Add non-starchy vegetables to the initial diet
- Oat bran
What you can eat during the Consolidation Phase:
- Proteins: all you can eat
- Vegetables: all you can eat
- A serving of fruit
- Two slices of whole-grain bread
- Cheese: 1 1/2 ounces
- Oat bran, 2 tablespoons required
What you can’t eat:
- Anything that’s not protein during the Attack Phase
- Starchy vegetables during the Cruise Phase
- Alcohol, until you reach the Consolidation Phase
