Meet the Werewolf Diet, otherwise known as the Lunar Diet, which has become increasingly popular amongst stars such as Demi Moore and Madonna. The idea behind the werewolf diet is based on the various phases of the moon and how this influences the water in our bodies, much like the way it impacts the tides of the ocean. Allegedly, the moon’s gravitational pull aids in the weight loss process.
The average human body is composed of about 60-75% water and by following the werewolf diet you could supposedly lose up to six pounds of water weight in one day.
How It Works
The basic version of the diet involves a day of fasting during a full or new moon, while only drinking water or juice. This also cleanses your body of toxins. The extended version begins with fasting at the full moon then follows with specific eating guidelines during the various phases of the moon: full moon, waning moon, new moon, and waxing moon. During the waning moon dieters are supposed to eat less and are told not to eat after 6 p.m. when moonlight starts to become visible.
- Don’t starve yourself. Simply stop eating once you begin to feel full. Try not to give into cravings and don’t overeat.
- This form of dieting has the tendency to set you up for binges. Make sure during the fasting periods that you have an end goal in mind to keep you on track.
- Nutritionists argue the effective and healthy nature of the diet while others warn how staying on the diet more than six days can be harmful. Be self-aware and know what diet plan is right for you.
If you’re looking for a quick way to drop a few pounds than this diet may be helpful, but most nutritionist recommend a healthy diet coupled with some form of daily exercise.
