4 Tips For Getting Celeb-Worthy Red Hair
Celebrities, including Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore and Blake Lively, all have one thing in common—they have gone all red. Red is back and it’s hotter than ever. You know what that means? TREND ALERT! Want to get those gorgeous head-turning red locks? Susmta Patel, licensed hairstylist and makeup artist, has listed four flawless tips on how to pull off the new look these celebrities are sporting.
Go Natural - You don’t have to be a red-head to have that perfect shade without damaging your hair. Go natural by using Henna to obtain your perfect shade. Also, if possible, get your hair professionally dyed. However, if you plan to dye your locks red without professional help, test the color. Henna works differently for each person. Collect hair from your hairbrush and test it on the hair, prior to dying your whole head.
Consider Your Complexion - To get the best fit shade of red for your hair, consider your complexion. If you have yellow/golden skin tone, try deep auburn red to make you hair pop. If you have an olive complexion, try burgundy or garnet. If you have a pale skin tone, stay away from bright red tones. Try a copper or cinnamon.
Protect Your Hair - Keep your newly dyed red hair at its best, by protecting your locks. If you are out in the sun, try wearing a fashionable hat or scarf to protect your hair from any sun damage. If you are at the beach, take a bottle of tap water and conditioner. Soak your hair with the water and apply an even coat of your conditioner. Pull your hair back, and soak up the sun.
Makeup to Highlight Your New Do - Play up your makeup and compliment your new do. Try warm colors on your eyes. An earthy color palette tends to go great with red hair. Although red hair makes a statement on its own, paint your lips red and use a black/brown liner on your eyes to create a dramatic look for a night out with friends.
